"Once again, the Chagrin Sun is naming a Most Influential Person for the year just ended.
The staff searched for the person who left the biggest footprint – for better or worse – in 2008 in each municipality served by the paper.
We hand-picked people with the moxie to take the lead, to take on a challenge, to stand up to the status quo or poke their heads above the crowd. Or, they may have worked behind the scenes to make a difference."
-- Chagrin Sun News - January 1, 2009 refering to Jill being
selected as Most Influential Person in Pepper Pike, 2008
- To ensure a healthy, stable Pepper Pike city government.
- Leadership succession is a necessary component of any organization's long-term health. Pepper Pike should embrace opportunities for it. I want to ensure that the knowledge and experience of our current elected officials is passed on to qualified residents such as myself: an individual who possesses a passion to serve the public through elected office, who is invested in Pepper Pike, and who hopes and plans to make her life here well into the 21st Century.
- To improve our city government's representation of homeowners with school-aged children (preschool through 12th grade).
- The city cannot be shaped without considering this demographic's perspectives. Out of eight elected Pepper Pike government officials, only one is a parent to a school-aged child and that one official is not seeking re-election. Decision-making at City Council, particularly for a community that knows the power of its corresponding school system for attracting homebuyers, needs the unique first-hand experience and daily, in-depth connection to young families that I can contribute as the parent of three school-aged children.
- To invigorate city government efforts at retaining and advancing Pepper Pike's reputation as we move further into the millennium.
- I possess the knowledge, experience, skills and passion required by public service to our community. Please check out my resumé for more information.
